German language help?

September 3rd, 2010

Learn French Online

I took German for two years in high school, then for four consecutive semesters in college. I’m going to grad school soon(ish) with a major in modern European history, which means I’ll have to brush up my language skills quite a bit…including French, which I’m not getting into right now, not after my horrible high school experience with it. Anyway. It’s been almost three years since my last German class, so I’m wondering if there are any books/CDs/websites you know of that would be good for a crash course? Preferably websites, as I’m mostly broke right now.

Also, is there any kind of free language program online, kind of like a penpal thing, where you can meet up with someone (in my case, a German) via email to improve your language skills? I’m more than willing to help with someone learning English, if it’s a reciprocal deal.

Right im currently taught at home and have just started year ten and incase you dont know thats when i should be starting my gcse coursework but im having trouble finding some? i only want to take three subjects – english, english literature and french but i dont know where to get them from? you can purchase them from many places, one of the places are open learning and we was going to buy from there but in the long run it was going to come to about £1300+ and that was pureley just for the coursework!

so i was wondering if there is somewere that supplies the courseowrk for free? you may be thinking no-one gives you nothing for free in life but if you go to an ordinary school you get it free of charge so why cannot i? also please dont suggest going back to school because that just isnt an option.

were willing to try almost anything? ive heard its possible to do it online? so im open to doing that? any answers would be greatfully apreciated.

How much money do I need to save up for a week in Paris for 2?

September 3rd, 2010

Learn French Online

I am only a sophomore in high school and starting to learn French. I want to start saving up for a trip to Paris for two. I want to start now I want to go with my aunt that’s 23 years old, but she is paying for her part of the expense. I know this is going to be expensive but I want to have at least an estimate of how much it would be including the airfare, the hotel, food, and attractions.

If you have already gone to Paris please just tell me what was the total price for you, and what if there are any great inexpensive or free things to do in Paris!!

Also I know that the money there is in euros and i’m counting dollars so if you could tell me the total price in dollars that be great, otherwise I could just find a converter online.

Thanks for anyone who answers my question. =)
